How to add an AI chatbot to a WooCommerce store
Install the SolveoAI WordPress plugin, paste your Widget ID, connect WooCommerce, and let the agent search products, look up orders and read the live cart.
Do this in order
Create an agent and add your store's knowledge
Sign up at /register, open Agents and create an agent from the E-commerce template. In its knowledge base, import your store URL and upload your shipping, returns and FAQ pages.
Install the WordPress plugin
In WordPress, install the SolveoAI plugin from the WordPress.org plugin directory. Open the agent's Deploy panel, click the WooCommerce card, copy the Widget ID and paste it into the plugin's settings page. The widget is now on your store.
Connect your WooCommerce store
In the WooCommerce card, authorize through WC-Auth from your store URL, or enter a consumer key and secret by hand. WooCommerce 6.0 or later is required. WooCommerce is available on Pro and above.
Enable the store actions and test
Under Actions, enable product search, order lookup, cart and inventory. On your storefront, ask about a product by name, SKU or price, and, signed in as a test customer, about an order. The plugin forwards the shopper's live Store API cart so the agent can read it.
What the WooCommerce chatbot can do once connected
- Product search by title, slug, SKU or price range, with an in-stock filter and several products in one answer.
- Order lookup for the signed-in shopper's own orders, with status and tracking details.
- Live cart through the WooCommerce Store API, forwarded by the plugin, so the agent sees what the shopper has in the cart without extra credentials.
- Add to cart with a checkout URL back to your store.
- Inventory checks for a product.
- Profile and address updates for name, email, phone and billing or shipping address.
See the WooCommerce channel page for the full capability list.
Connecting the store: WC-Auth or keys
WC-Auth is WooCommerce's own key-authorization flow: you enter your store URL, approve the request in WordPress and the consumer key and secret are stored for you. If your host blocks that flow, create a REST API key under WooCommerce settings (read and write permissions) and paste the consumer key and secret into the Deploy panel.
Tips for a good first week
- Import your policy pages (shipping, returns, payment) so pre-sale questions are answered from your own content.
- Add an escalation rule for refunds and disputes so they reach a person with the transcript attached. See escalation rules and the live chat docs.
- Watch unresolved conversations and fill the gaps in the knowledge base weekly.
